Jared Now An Admin; Tyler No Longer An Admin, Stays As Owner

Um, wow.

I'm not going to be making a super long post but I think TT was a great admin. With the whole drama thing I must've not been around when it happened before since I don't remember it, but with the whole VIP thing. I think he's a great member and he cares a lot about the people here. So what if his posts don't make sense sometimes, he's still a person, just because he's different doesn't mean you should judge him or anybody for that matter.

I sent this to Zig last night:

"The MPF:RN ban thing was kind of hard-headed and dumb. But I told him that was arrogant and stupid so he backed off. And the MPF Blog wasn't just him saying "I wanna do this so let's go." There was a topic about it in the staff board and we figured we'd give it a shot so we introduced it to the rest of the forum (This happens with quite a lot of suggestions. We run them through the staff first, then bring them up with you guys if we all think it's a good idea).

As for Snowy, TT does like him. In fact, the staff had suggested we ban him after like 2 warnings. But TT didn't want to, so we didn't. Then he even unbanned Snowy and let him post an apology topic. THEN he even wanted to shorten Snowy's ban (To which Cook and I disagreed so it didn't fly). I'm going to assume Snowy was in this Skype call. I'm also going to assume that you know he's bashed the site, VIP, and TT on Twitter after making his "apology" topic. So not for nothing, but if anyone is being two-faced in this matter, it would be Snowy. And by saying that I do love Snowy, but think that he can be pretty damn annoying sometimes, i would hope you don't think I'm being two-faced as well.

Anyways, long story short, TT was for Snowy while the rest of the staff was against him. Yes, TT might have s*** on him a bit in the Podcast, but we all s*** on every member. He wasn't treated any differently there (Or anywhere else, as he seems to think).

I hope that you didn't think TT was an unfit admin because you thought he was the only one making decisions. The Staff is a team, and a pretty damn good one at that. We listen to each other. We vote. Anything you think TT did wrong is probably just as much Cook, Uriel, and I's fault as it is his."

And that basically explains how I feel.

@Matt: It's not like we just let TT de-admin himself on the spot. He had made a topic before this one, but someone (I assume Cook) deleted it in hopes of talking some sense into him. Then, when it was obvious he wasn't changing his mind, I (half-jokingly) asked for his admin spot.

@Cody: I agree with you completely. VIP is as real as it gets.

But in the end it all comes down to what Hunt said. As usual. Same s***, different day.

I haven't even read half of the posts in this topic, and the ones I have read, I skimmed through 'cause I'm tired as all fark. But it's fairly easy to guess who's saying what.

Now. Jared's PM to me was pretty much in reply to a PM I sent to TT about ten minutes before;

Right. I told Cook to post in his topic about people not liking him that I was one of them. I feel it wrong of me to say this and not admit to you, in 'person' my reasoning as a guy I found slightly cool.


My problem with you, and always has been how you try and act nice to everyone all at once. However this ends up making you slightly two-faced from one person to another. An example of this would be saying you like one member, then bashing that member to someone else behind their back, simply because that person doesn't member #1. Snowy is a fairly good example of this. You said to him, that you like him then bash him behind his back to people who dislike him. Pretty sure you've done the same with VIP before, as well.

Another thing is how you rush into 'important' decisions, without really asking anyone. And then having to back-track out the hole you've somewhat dug for yourself. The MPF blog and MPF:RN banning thing are examples of these. I mean, they're kind of good ideas, but, you kind of just decided them on your own, without asking anyone.

I think you're an alright guy, but I don't like to be one to bulls*** around a problem, so I figured I may as well just PM you myself and tell you the truth.

Now this was pretty much everyone in the Skype conversations feelings, and instead of letting Cook relay the message through a Staff-board topic, I figured it'd be best to simply say it. However looking back at this message I realized I missed something. Something important. And, I'm not gonna blame lack of sleep or whatever.

TT. You really shouldn't give up your rank over the opinion of four people (I mean, one of them was British, and we aren't even people!). Skimming through this topic has made one point clear; People like you as admin. And, too be honest. So do I. You are MPF. No offense to Joey or anything, but, for the last couple of years you have been the driving force behind MPF. And, I know we all, as a community pull ourselves into rocky situations like this from time to time. But in the end stepping back isn't going to fix anything.

My opinion dictates it will only make things worst in the end. But, if you feel this course of action is best for the forum as a whole. Then you do it.

Guy's you are making a way too big of a deal about this. My intention has always been to be the owner not an Admin. I've always referred to Cook as being the only Admin here.

Jared becoming an Admin has more to do with Cook leaving for a week and that he's been doing a great job.

I've been talking about this for a while and since people were worried about the site over something that was really a non-issue since I wasn't really an Admin anyways. I thought i'd make it official. The only change, honestly, that I can't warn anyone or add Boards and do stuff like that. It's not a big deal

Ok since everyone's giving deep inputs:

I'd like to say first that Tyler's a good admin. He dedicates a lot of time to the site, pays the bills, adds things, and is quite passionate about the site.

With that said, TT sometimes takes that passion too far. There's some stats he talks about that are worth mentioning (example, 1000 posts), but I personally find the SL bashing quite insulting. I spend a lot of time making topics and discussions, just like you do here. Yes, other members post here more than SL, but I don't understand the comments about how I should spend more time here than on "dead" sites. I was a staff on both NC and SL, and I cared about NC and I care about SL as much as you do. Of course I'm going to post there, I do whatever I can in my power to try and keep activity going at SL, just like how you bust your ass making a lot of topics and posts here too. As someone said earlier here (might have been Cody), I find it a little ironic that while you constantly bash SL you've used quite a few handfuls of topics from there and posted them here.

Now if the remark was only on the podcast directed at me, I'd be cool with it because you guys all gave people s***. But you constantly brought that up on the SotFA which really bugged me. You don't see me talking s*** on SL about how you decided to "bump the opening day to shine over Straight Legit" as Cook mentioned, nor do I bash the site for being about Mario Party because I don't like the series. As for MPL, I can't comment on that since I was never a member there. If I had to make a guess though, I would think the people who run the place there would be a little annoyed like me.

Don't get me wrong though, that's really the only fault I think you have about being an admin. Straight Legit and Mario Party Forum were never meant to be a competition between each other. There's no reason to make it one now. It's childish. A forum's simply a place for members to chat about similar interests, not fight and argue left and right. The only other fault I think you may have is that sometimes you let your emotions get to you. Don't let four members impact you to the point where you make a spontaneous decision. There's a lot more than 4 members on here anyway, and as you can see here others are upset you stepped down. I think you're a really good admin, you just really need to cool down with statistics and site bashing 8)


I'd like everyone to make a promise here though? I don't care if you were involved or not with this whole epidemic, this is a promise for the future. Can we all just grow the fark up and appreciate a forum for it's purpose and appreciate the members for who they are? Don't get pissy if you disagree with them. Agree to disagree. I don't understand how farking hard that is for a couple people sometimes. If someone's givinf you s***, let the staff know. They just made it loud and clear they aren't putting up with this drama anymore. Let them handle it, don't oblige yourself to even the score.

Oh and I just want to thank everyone for their criticisms. You guys are right and i'll definitely try to fix them. I'm always working on being a better person and I think you guys are helping me out a lot. Honestly, my heart is always in a good place but you guys are right I need to stop bashing other sites (especially when I really don't have a problem with them, it was pretty much just "promoter speak" and jokes a lot of the time if we're being honest).

I think you all will be pleasantly surprised within the next month or so. I really think i'll reach my full potential as a member and hopefully stop acting like a dick to some of you guys. I can't really promise you guys anything but that i'll try and I definitely will do that.

I honestly didn't realise that people take the internet this seriously. I only go on it when I'm bored (which is always). But everyone in life is going to be judged, no matter who they are. I love TT and Cook and Jared, straight up opinions. I honestly feel like this is out of hand and that if it weren't for TT you guys wouldn't' be on this forum in the first place. Tyler keep doing what your doing, I wouldn't get down in the dumps about it everyone knows your awesome (secretly) Life is life, s*** happens.

The solution to things like this is to confront someone if you don't like something they're doing. This never needed to get to this point. Tyler has been a great admin for MPF, though I can see the problems people have with him. On the other hand, if you run a forum, it's pretty hard to avoid criticism. Although I don't know how bad the drama was getting, from what I know I think it could have been worked out. Maybe it still can be, who knows. Like I said, I don't know what people were saying.

In any case, congratulations to Jared! You've been great in the G Mod position, so I'm sure you'll do well with this too.

Congrats Jared on your now Adminship. TT I thought you were fine as an admin, but this is your decision and I am glad that you are paying for the bills here, because without you there would be no mpf anymore.
