- Sega has partnered with sports event producer ASA Entertainment to produce "Sonic Generations of Skate"
- this is a televised event
- watch 3 generations of professional skaters competing in a series of Sonic-themed challenges
- skaters include Andy Macdonald, Lincoln Ueda, Pierre Luc Gagnon, Steve Caballero and Tony Hawk
- attendees get an early look at Sonic Generations
- takes place October 22nd at 1800 Ocean Front Walk in Venice Beach, California
- full event will air on the Fox Sports Network on November 25th

Surprised they got Tony Hawk to do this. PLG is a boss. They are all good skaters. I'll watch.

Maybe I'll take a shot at attending... jk.

Not really. I'd wait until Black Friday.

But this is awesome.

Sounds a bit retarded lol. Good skaters but the Sonic part just seems kind of stupid, although its a PR event so makes sense.

This'd be hilarious if they dressed up as Sonic characters while doing it.

Yes, cuz all you did was post a picture and then some "facts"; which doesn't really prove anything. Tongue

Anyways... This looks interesting, I think I might watch.

Imagine skateboarding with loops like those, that'd be awesome yet twisted at the same time!

Quote from: Sega Blog
Join Sonic for an awesome celebration of both Sonic’s 20th Anniversary and skateboarding at Sonic Generations of Skate, an all-ages event for Sonic fans and skating fans young and old!

Now, the legends of skateboarding will compete in a completely unique team competition that celebrates three generations of vert skating! Each team will consist of one 1st generation, one 2nd generation and one 3rd generation vert skater competing together on the actual half-pipe from the X Games.

There will be four different competitions where each pro will battle for team points against skaters from their own generation. The contests include individual runs, high air, best trick and team doubles.

Check out the list of twelve top pros competing for the chance to go home with the glorious golden ring – er, trophy! And join them for autographs, to play the newest video game from Sega, and a chance to win prizes!

We’ll be on the basketball courts next to Muscle Beach in Venice Beach, California from 11am until 5pm on Saturday, October 22nd. It’s free, so bring your family and friends! Tweeting about this event? Use and follow the hashtag #sonicskate

Not able to make it in person? No need to worry — it will be broadcast on Fox Sports Network on November 25, 2011.

Weirdly enough theres a 14 year old competing:

14 isn't that young in the skating world (or any action sports) but this kid is already a beast. He's the youngest skater to ever land a 900 & has already been to the X Games. Reminds me of Kolohe Andino.

I found it weird due to the "generations" idea. Mainly due to him being a good 4-5 years younger than the others in his group. They were all like 19 =P

I guess it's still the same "generation" but they should've just kept the same basic age for the last one.
