General / General Chat / Trends among people with same names

In your life, have you noticed any patterns among people with the same names? Like if all the people you know named David are really smart, or if all the Brittanys you know are slutty, etc. Obviously, you're dealing with small sample sizes, so it's obvious that just because all the Davids you know are smart, doesn't mean that all Davids in the world are smart. Just thought this would be fun
All of the Kates I know are very nice On the other hand, everyone named Katie is super annoying, has a high voice, and is a stereotypical WASP Same as above with Allison, except Allisons are guidettes instead of WASPs Everyone named Cory is an asshole Everyone named Carlos is laid back and chill Everyone named Brandon is quiet Everyone named Stephanie and Lauren is hot Everyone named something peachy like Faith, Hope, Love, etc. is a slut Everyone named Daniel has a good sense of humor Everyone named Ryan is a man-whore Everyone named a variation of Christina is smart

This is a very fun, high-octane game! I suggest you give it a try, it gets addicting
First time I played I got 7206. My first three guesses were really close, all within a thousand miles, but the last two I really farked up. They showed me a pic of some slum area which I thought must be either Brazil or India, so I went with India, but it turned out to be in farking Brazil. The second time it was just a highway in the middle of nowhere, and it had some African features, so I picked South Africa when it turned out to be in Minnesota
High score so far is 16439, but I cheated a bit since two of the environments were in Russia and had street signs, so I found them pretty easily

Yankees' offense has been as bad as advertised, they're 13th out of 15 spots in the American League in RBI. They're only doing well because they have the second lowest ERA

Hmm, you guys are right, Come Sail Away is actually not that obscure
And about Boston and The Who, overall they are well known, but they do have some obscure songs

Guide to Tovaseca (the capital of Tovaslavia)
The colorful lines are the monorail trails. Almost all of the monorails are above ground, save a few (like the Parliament stop, where all the trains run underground)
Bolsiy Norzist, Vodagradziek and Norzvest all are primarily residential. Bolsiy Norzist has a large elderly population. For this reason, it's very quiet, aside from the constant domino games taking place in the streets. Bolsiy Norzist is anything located east of the light brown line.
Launsau is a massive neighborhood in the southeast. It is family oriented, and the streets are shaped like crescents. The area is famous for 50's-themed diners and colorful condos.
Aqua and Aqua Hil also have a lot of condos. Aqua is a desired hood for the waterfront condos. Aqua Hil has a lot of parks and s*** and a massive stadium.
Central Tovaseca is like a downtown for nerdier people because it has a massive comic centre, a theatre, a botanical garden, an anime centre, and the museum of history. The western side has a massive apartment complex of 35-story towers
The island between the two sides of Tovaseca has a giant amusement park and a ton of clubs and a huge hotel for tourists. There is also a coliseum for bands to perform in.
Poljus has a s***load of drunk college students since there is a s***load of colleges there. Particularly the areas to the left of the Gold and Orange lines, where college students choose to live for easy access to Dauntaun and the island. The area between the Yellow and the Purple lines has nerdier college students, who are probably not as drunk.
Dauntaun is the area primarily between the Pink, the Gold, and the Mahogany lines. There are a lot of weed and booze bars there. There is also a beach, but do not go to the beach because the beaches in Tovaseca suck c*ck
Centr-Gradze is the residential part of Downtown, where there are 50-story buildings and overpopulation. The area has five subway lines to ease congestion. There are people on the streets trying to sell you cheap s*** and pirated movies. On a plus side, it is very diverse, having immigrants from nearly every continent.
Plaza Svobody has barely any population but is instead mostly art galleries and statues. There is a massive memorial to the victims of imperialism. If one wants to be alone with the art, the best time to go is in the morning when all of the college students are asleep.
Vauxhall is an area with a massive bus and train terminal. The area around the purple line gets very desolate at night, so I wouldn't go there and s***. Just sayin'

tova didn't you quote lyrics to prove why a song was good or something
quit flipflopping
In the other topic, my argument was whether or not lyrics have improved. Jared actually poked a good hole in my argument with this statement Lyrics "improving" does not mean music is improving. Try comparing the actual music in a song. Thrift Shop is the same 7 notes over and over again. That is not good music. Jared's argument was a very good one, and I realized that good lyrics do not make automatically make a song good

American Pie charted 1st in USA and 2nd in UK. I'll give you that it has great lyrics, but great lyrics alone do not make a song good. It's way too long, and the message of the song could've been conveyed in about half of the song's length. Also, the riff is repetitive, and the song gets boring very quickly. Not a bad song, but not worthy of its position on top of the charts
Wonderwall simply gets too much airtime. It's a good song, but it's not THAT good
I went over Led Zeppelin and Guns&Roses already
Smells Like Teen Spirit has repetitive instrumentals. Also, the song tries way too hard to be nonsensical. I get that the song was written as a middle finger to conformity and other mainstream hits of the time, but still
My My Hey Hey is mostly on there for personal opinion. I just think that it's not a good song and that Neil Young has many much better songs
Poker Face is (was) overrated due to extreme playtime in 2010-2011. Yes, it has subdued a lot, but damn, for a two year period, I didn't think it was possible for a song to be played as much as Poker Face

American Pie - Don McLean Wonderwall - Oasis Stairway to Heaven - Led Zeppelin Welcome to the Jungle - Guns n' Roses Smells Like Teen Spirit - Nirvana My My Hey Hey - Neil Young Poker Face - Lady Gaga
EDIT: Forgot Glory Days by Bruce Springsteen. fark that song, fark it with a passion
'I hate all these songs so that means they are overrated'-Tova 'I will just assume that Tova hates all of these songs even though the only song that he admits to hating is Glory Days. Hooray for making unsubstantiated claims!'

Look up "Top 70s Songs" and look at the lists people and websites make. Come Sail Away doesn't make it into most people's Top 100.
